Targets met, an abundance of apples and Christmas is coming

So this month... no messing... the sales target was prime focus. No one left the market stall without something in their bag... anyone visiting the farm was given fliers and talked to... and we welcomed visitors to the cutting room on Thursday afternoons for their meat supplies... and WE'VE MADE IT!!!!! Thanks everyone... it doesn't stop here!

Mark, the butcher, is being an absolute STAR. Not only is he doing a fantastic job of cutting the meat (and doing it so much better & faster that I ever could), he's coming up with new cuts, new idea's and is committed to helping us give our customers what they want... so tell us! It's great to have such a partner.

That's the big news... Laughing

Otherwise, this month has seen:

  • An abundance of apples - the pigs are in seventh heaven.
  • The torrential rain I asked for last month to test the farmyard drainage - be careful what you ask for... it works... both the asking and the drainage!
  • Both Guillaume and Lucy (a young Hungarian student) left and our daughter Emily and her partner Dale returned briefly.
  • A fantastically enthusiastic article about us and our sausages in the Swindon Advertiser, which resulted in many enquiries and extra customers.
  • And some great Christmas Markets - cooking burgers and sausages at the Christmas Lights Festivals in Devizes and Calne. We make a pretty mean burger, but serve it in a home made bun with home made chutney and you've got something really special (see, I've got the sales bug!!!).

We can feel Christmas round the corner and are doing our best at this time of year, to get on top of the day to day stuff so that the busyness of mid-December doesn't overwhelm us.

I hope this finds you and your families warm and dry and happy.
